Participant Requirements:  Men, ages 65 to 80, non-smokers for at least 3 months.  BMI must be between 18 and 30. 
What:  This study will be testing the affect of age and gender on the absorption and metabolic rate of an investigational treatment for an antiretroviral (a treatment for HIV).
When:  This study will consist of 1 stay and 3 outpatient returns. Check in Friday, May 18 at 7:00 p.m. thru Sunday, May 20 at 7:00 p.m. with returns on 5/20 at 6:30 p.m., 5/21 at 6:30 a.m. and a final return for an Exit Physical on 5/22 at 6:00 a.m.

Participant Requirements:  Women only, ages 45 to 65, non-tobacco users for at least 6 months prior to screening.  Women must be naturally postmenopausal (with an intact uterus) for at least 6 months.  BMI must be between 18 and 32 and weight must be between 110 lbs and 220 lbs. 
What:  This study will be testing the absorption and metabolic rate of 2 different formulations (marketed vs. investigational) of a vaginal progesterone gel for treatment of progesterone deficiency.  You will be required to use a marketed estrogen patch for 1 week prior to the study start and throughout the trial.
When:  This study will consist of 2 weekend stays (Friday 6:00 p.m. thru Sunday 6:00 a.m.) and a total of 9 outpatient visits.  Return on 6/2 at 5:00 a.m.; stay 6/8 thru 6/10 with returns on 6/11 at 5:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., 6/12 and 6/13 at 5:30 a.m.; stay 6/15 thru 6/17 with returns on 6/18 at 5:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and 6/19 at 5:30 a.m.; and a final return for Exit Physical on Wednesday, June 20 at 5:00 a.m.  
How Much:  $1200, paying on Tuesday, June 26.
Physical:  Wednesday, May 23 at 6:30 a.m. Physicals do require a full gynecological exam with breast exam, pelvic exam, a Pap smear* and a mammogram* (*unless you have had one within 1 year of the screening and can provide a cytology report and/or radiology report).

Participant Requirements:  Men and women, ages 45 to 80, current heavy smokers or former heavy smokers (i.e., 1 pack/day for 20 years, 2 packs/day for 10 years, etc.).  If you are taking medications - no problem.
What:  This is a blood collection study only. No medication required.
When:  This study will consist of 1 blood draw. This will be done on Thursday, May 24 or Thursday, June 7.
How Much:  $30, paying on the same day as the blood draw.
Physical:  Thursday, May 24 or Thursday, June 7 - call for an appointment time.

 

Study Number:  59311  ENROLL or call 417-831-2048   Four Weekend Stays!!

Participant Requirements:  Men and women, ages 18 to 65, non-tobacco users for at least 3 months prior to screening.  Women must be postmenopausal.  BMI must be between 18 and 30.
What:  This study will be testing the metabolic rate of 2 formulations of progesterone (marketed vs. investigational), under fasting conditions.
When:  This study will consist of 4 weekend stays (Saturday at 7:00 p.m. thru Monday at 7:00 a.m.) and a total of 20 outpatient visits (5 after each stay). 
- Stay 6/16 thru 6/18 with returns on 6/18 at 6:30 p.m., 6/19 at 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., 6/20 and 6/21 at 6:30 a.m.;
- Stay 6/23 thru 6/25 with returns on 6/25 at 6:30 p.m., 6/26 at 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., 6/27 and 6/28 at 6:30 a.m.;
- Stay 6/30 thru 7/2 with returns on 7/2 at 6:30 p.m., 7/3 at 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., 7/4 and 7/5 at 6:30 a.m.;
- Stay 7/7 thru 7/9 with returns on 7/9 at 6:30 p.m., 7/10 at 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., 7/11 at 6:30 a.m.;
- Final Return for an Exit Physical on Thursday, July 12 at 6:00 a.m.
